SingaporeAP — A French student was fined 600 Singapore dollars ($465) after pleading guilty Thursday to a public nuisance charge in Singapore for filming himself licking a straw from an orange juice vending machine and putting it back in what lawyers described as a social media stunt.

Didier Gaspard Owen Maximilien, 19, admitted to licking the straw and returning it to the vending machine while recording the act for his online followers. It happened at a shopping mall in March and he was charged in April after his video spread rapidly.

Another charge of mischief was taken into consideration during sentencing. The court imposed the fine and did not order any community-based sentence after considering mitigating factors.

The public nuisance charge carries a penalty of up to three months in prison. Prosecutors sought only the maximum fine of 2,000 Singapore dollars ($1,551), mellstroy com saying the staged act was intended for social media and risked undermining confidence in the hygiene of a commonly used vending machine.

They noted Maximilien retrieved the straw himself, no member of the public used it, there was no evidence of harm, he was young and pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity.

Maximilien studies in a business school in Singapore, but prosecutors told the court he would also be in France from September to December as part of his studies.

Prosecutors said immigration authorities will decide if Maximilien can keep his student pass in Singapore after considering all relevant factors.

Defense counsel Kalidass Murugayan said the student has been living in Singapore without family support and expressed deep remorse for his actions. He said the video was a stunt for social media followers and that Maximilien later removed the contaminated straw from the machine to use for his own drink, meaning it was never intended for anyone else.

"He is truly sorry for having caused all this trouble," the lawyer said. His parents will ensure that he paid the fine himself, the counsel added. The student left the court without speaking to reporters.

IJooz, the company operating the juice vending machine, filed a police report over the stunt and sanitized the dispenser while replacing all 500 straws in the machine. It has said it would upgrade its machines to include measures such as individually packaged straws and compartments that unlock only after the transaction is completed.

An HBX file is generally associated with the BinHex encoding format, which was commonly used on older Macintosh computers. BinHex converts binary files—such as documents, images, programs, and archives—into text-based data so they can be transferred through systems that do not properly support binary content.

1. HBX Files Usually Contain Encoded Data

An HBX file normally does not contain a document that can be viewed directly. Instead, it stores an encoded version of another file. The HBX file must first be recognized and decoded before the original document, image, archive, or application can be accessed.

2. Open an HBX File With FileMagic

FileMagic provides a convenient way to identify and open unfamiliar file types such as HBX files. Rather than searching for several specialized programs, you can use FileMagic to analyze the file and determine whether its contents can be opened, viewed, or extracted.

3. View the Contents of an HBX File

Because HBX files may contain encoded information, opening them in an ordinary program may display unreadable characters. FileMagic can help inspect the file, identify its actual format, and determine whether the encoded content can be displayed or converted into something more accessible.

4. Extract the Original File From an HBX File

If the HBX file is a BinHex-encoded archive, it must be decoded before the original file can be used. FileMagic may help recognize the underlying file type and provide an appropriate way to open or extract the stored content when the format is supported.

5. Edit an HBX File or Its Extracted Content

An HBX file itself is typically encoded data and is not designed for direct editing. After the original file has been extracted, it may be edited using a compatible application. FileMagic can help identify the extracted file so you know which software or editing method is appropriate.

6. Run Programs Stored Inside an HBX File

Some HBX files may contain encoded applications or executable components. These files cannot normally be run until they have been properly decoded. FileMagic can help identify the extracted program, although older Macintosh applications may not run directly on modern Windows computers.

7. Troubleshoot or Debug an HBX File

When an HBX file fails to open, the problem may be caused by file corruption, incomplete encoding, an incorrect extension, or unsupported legacy data. FileMagic can help analyze the file and reveal its actual type, making it easier to troubleshoot the problem or select the correct development and debugging tools.

8. Inspect an HBX File as Text

Since BinHex encoding uses text-based characters, an HBX file can sometimes be opened in Notepad or another text editor. However, the resulting content will usually be difficult to understand. FileMagic offers a more practical approach by attempting to identify the data instead of simply displaying the raw encoded text.

9. HBX Files May Come From Different Programs

Not every HBX file is necessarily a BinHex file. Some specialized applications may also use the HBX extension for proprietary data, macros, development files, or internal program resources. FileMagic can analyze the file’s structure and help determine which application likely created it.

10. Do Not Rename the HBX Extension

Changing `. If you have virtually any issues concerning in which as well as tips on how to work with HBX file converter, you'll be able to e-mail us from the website. HBX` to another extension does not convert the file and may make it more difficult to open. A safer solution is to use FileMagic to inspect the file, identify its actual format, and determine the most suitable way to view, extract, edit, run, or troubleshoot its contents.

11. Check That the File Is HBX and Not HXB

HBX can easily be confused with the similarly named HXB extension. HXB files may be associated with firmware or other specialized technical data and require completely different software. FileMagic can help identify the file based on its contents rather than relying only on the filename extension.

12. Use FileMagic as an All-in-One HBX File Solution

FileMagic is a useful first choice when you receive an HBX file and do not know which program created it. It can help identify, open, inspect, view, and manage many unfamiliar file formats while guiding you toward the appropriate software for extracting, editing, running, or debugging the file’s actual contents.
