Tout le monde (grand public)

Moisture control is another major role, especially on concrete slabs. A concrete slab often releases moisture vapour constantly, and an underlay with a built-in vapour barrier keeps the flooring from swelling.

Flooring is one of the first things buyers notice. Worn carpet, scuffed floors or cracked tile give a message that the property needs work. On the other hand, new, consistent flooring helps make a property look move-in ready, and khaRgHAroNlINe.coM that often helps it stand out.

Hardwood floors is one of the features buyers love. Engineered hardwood gives you the same appeal with greater stability across the seasons. For a smaller budget, luxury vinyl plank is able to provide an equally attractive modern look at a lower cost.

No matter what you choose, focus on proper installation: caulking around the tub and toilet, correct transitions and solid subfloor preparation. Those small details make all the difference for how long your floor lasts.

If you live with little ones and four-legged friends, you already know how quickly floors take a beating. Paws, toys, spills and snow and slush can stain a poorly chosen floor in a few months. Luckily: modern flooring products are made to survive real life.

When it comes to a classic wood look, two products usually come up first: laminate flooring and natural hardwood. Each of them can look stunning, however they are very different in cost, performance and maintenance.

If you plan to put your house on the market in the near future, or even if you just want to enjoy your home more, new flooring is one of the most effective investments you can make. Floors make up nearly the entire surface in every room, which means they create a huge impact on first impressions.

When people shop for flooring, most of the attention goes to the colour, style and price. Yet what goes under the boards matters just as much. Quality underlay improves how the floor feels, sound and protection against moisture, while it helps your new floor last longer.

Its first role is sound reduction. Floating floors may sound noisy without proper underlayment. A quality underlayment absorbs impact sound, which is especially important in multi-storey homes where condo boards frequently require a minimum IIC or STC rating.

High-quality laminate is another great option. The hard melamine surface is tough against scuffs and scratches, often even more than other floors. Look for products with an AC4 or AC5 rating and water-resistant features for the best performance.

Underlayment also hides slight unevenness in the base while gives some softness underfoot. Remember, though, that does not replace proper subfloor preparation: large dips and bumps need to be levelled beforehand.

So, what option is right for you? When long-term value plus refinishing potential are your priority, choose engineered or solid hardwood. If cost, durability and low upkeep top your list, quality laminate makes a lot of sense.

Is hardwood an option? It is possible, though be selective. Dense species like oak, maple or hickory are more resistant, and low-sheen finishes or natural grain patterns hide everyday wear much better than high-gloss finishes.

LVP is usually at the top of the list for busy homes. It is water-resistant, so pet accidents are no big deal. A thick wear layer will help reduce scuffs, and its softer feel is quieter for kids playing on the floor.

The main benefit of luxury vinyl is its water resistance. Compared with traditional laminate, a well-made LVP won't warp when exposed to moisture. This makes it an ideal option for basements, laundry rooms and entryways.

Modern laminate has improved significantly. High-quality laminate products feature detailed photographic layers and textured surfaces that feel surprisingly realistic. Its tough top layer makes it highly resistant to daily wear, and it costs lower. A growing number of collections even provide better moisture protection.

Vinyl plank and vinyl tile are now a favourite in wet areas. Fully waterproof constructions ensure that spills won't damage the floor if cleaned up promptly. LVP stays softer under bare feet than ceramic, which is much appreciated on cold Canadian mornings.

Natural hardwood is the classic choice. It brings warmth that is hard to copy, and it can be refinished more than once over the decades. That ability allows quality hardwood to last a very long time. Hardwood also adds resale value in most cities.

Kitchens and bathrooms are the busiest rooms in the house. They see spills, steam, dropped dishes and daily cleaning. The flooring you choose here needs to be water-resistant, durable and low maintenance without sacrificing great design.

And what about hardwood in these rooms? Water-resistant laminate are a valid option in kitchens, as long as spills are wiped up right away. Wood can also be used in kitchens with caution, however in full bathrooms, vinyl or tile stay the recommended options.

If you are considering LVP for your renovation, it is worth taking time to compare wear layers and check colours at home. You will find a great selection on Canada Floors Depot before making your final choice.cyclists_riding_along_the_sidewalk-1024x683.jpg
